Abstract

Abstract

Advances in robotics and automation technology require students to enhance their competencies in understanding control systems, programming, and the integration of electronic devices. Robotic Vokasi, as a robotics development organization, has the potential for innovation but still needs to strengthen its foundational skills related to control systems and autonomous robots. This community service activity aims to improve the competencies of Robotic Vokasi members through a workshop on basic control systems and autonomy using a microcontroller-based robot transporter model. The activity involved 25 participants and was conducted through the following methods: identifying partner needs, workshop planning, material delivery, interactive discussions, simulations, and evaluation via a post-test. The material covered included the concepts of autonomous robots, the Sense-Think-Act architecture, control systems, sensors, actuators, and the stages of robot development. The results of the activity showed that participants were able to understand the basics of robot control and the application of autonomous concepts through the simulations provided. Participants also showed great enthusiasm throughout the event, which helped enhance their readiness to develop robotics projects in a more structured manner.
