KAJIAN PENGEMBANGAN MODEL PEMBERDAYAAN NELAYAN TRADISIONAL MELALUI MODERNISASI TEKNOLOGI DAN PENGUATAN KELEMBAGAAN DI KABUPATEN LOMBOK UTARA
Abstract

ABSTRACT
This community engagement program aims to enhance the capacities of traditional fishers in North Lombok Regency through the modernization of fishing technology and the strengthening of group institutional management. The partners consisted of 143 fishers from five coastal districts who faced limited use of GPS and fish finders, weak organizational management, and minimal access to training. The implementation consisted of three stages: pre-implementation, implementation, and evaluation. The main training was conducted on 30 October 2025, focusing on hands-on demonstrations of navigation technology and guidance on organizational structuring. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of GPS and fish finder operations, accompanied by increased awareness of accountable group governance. A three-day evaluation showed that most participants found the training relevant and applicable. This program provides a strong foundation for sustainable fisher empowerment and offers a replicable model for other coastal communities with similar characteristics.
