Prison-Based Tobacco Health Education on Lung and Pregnancy-Related Harms among Incarcerated Men in Yogyakarta, Indonesia: A Community Engagement Programme

Abstract


Latar Belakang: Penggunaan tembakau dan paparan asap rokok orang lain merupakan masalah kesehatan masyarakat utama di lingkungan lembaga pemasyarakatan. Edukasi tentang bahaya kehamilan juga relevan bagi warga binaan laki-laki karena kebiasaan merokok mereka dapat memengaruhi pasangan hamil dan anggota keluarga setelah bebas. Tujuan: Mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan dan temuan verbal tingkat kelompok dari program edukasi kesehatan tembakau di lembaga pemasyarakatan mengenai merokok aktif, asap rokok orang lain, kesehatan paru, dan bahaya kehamilan. Metode: Program pengabdian masyarakat deskriptif satu sesi dilaksanakan pada 20 April 2026 di Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Kelas IIA Yogyakarta. Tujuh puluh sembilan warga binaan perokok mengikuti sesi 60 menit (ceramah interaktif, curah pendapat, diskusi, dan pembagian leaflet). Pemahaman dinilai secara verbal pada tingkat kelompok, sebelum dan sesudah sesi, pada empat domain, tanpa instrumen tervalidasi atau skor individual; analisis bersifat deskriptif. Hasil: Seluruh 79 peserta menyelesaikan program. Sebelum sesi, respons kelompok menunjukkan kesadaran umum bahwa merokok berbahaya namun kurang spesifik. Setelah sesi, respons menjadi lebih spesifik, mencakup penyakit paru obstruktif kronik, kanker paru, kelahiran prematur, berat lahir rendah, dan berhenti merokok. Simpulan: Program ini layak dilaksanakan dalam keterbatasan operasional lembaga pemasyarakatan, dan respons pasca-sesi secara kualitatif lebih spesifik dibandingkan pra-sesi. Desain tingkat kelompok tidak dapat menyimpulkan efektivitas pada tingkat individu; penilaian terstruktur, berskor individual, dan tindak lanjut disarankan untuk program mendatang.
