BUDIDAYA MAGGOT BSF (BLACK SOLDIER FLY) DAN BANK SAMPAH DALAM IMPLEMENTASI PROGRAM MERTANI BACK TO NATURE
Abstract
Abstract: Organic and non-organic waste has become one of the persistent issues in several regions of East Java Province. Low waste management often occurs due to the community's perception that waste has no market value, leading to a lack of awareness in waste management. Community Service Programs are carried out with the aim of increasing awareness and capacity in waste management for the residents of Mertani Village, Karanggeneng District, Lamongan Regency, East Java. The Mertani Back to Nature program is implemented through socialization activities, training, and program mentoring. This program involves 20 environmental cadres gathered from 6 neighborhoods (RT) and a total of 50 customers from 6 Waste Banks. Evaluation is conducted through meetings by monitoring the attendance records of waste banks and the number of customers involved in each waste bank. Additionally, the processed amount of organic waste through maggot cultivation and the weight of newly hatched maggot eggs are also observed. The outcome of this program is the establishment of 6 Waste Banks in Mertani Village, where there was previously only 1 Waste Bank, and the introduction of a new venture, namely BSF maggot cultivation.
