PELATIHAN MEMBACA MELALUI BUKU CERITA BERGAMBAR BAGI ANAK-ANAK DI TARAKAN KALIMANTAN UTARA
Abstract
Abstrak: Anak-anak di wilayah pesisir Kalimantan Utara mengalami budaya baca yang rendah. Para orang tua kurang memerhatikan pendidikan dan tidak memfasilitasi perkembangan membaca anak-anaknya. Banyak anak-anak yang tidak dapat memahami isi bacaan. Oleh karena itu dilakukan Pelatihan membaca dengan buku cerita bergambar ini di Selumit Kalimantan Utara yang bertujuan meningkatkan minat dan budaya baca anak. Selain itu, tujuan lainnya untuk memberikan penguatan kepada orang tua dan anak tentang pentingnya membaca agar pengetahuanya bertambah. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Selumit Kalimantan Utara. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah demonstrasi dan pelatihan. Peserta pelatihan dalam kegiatan ini berjumlah 19 anak. Tim melakukan evaluasi untuk melihat keberhasilan anak yaitu dengan meminta anak membaca buku cerita bergambar bergantian, memberikan angket, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program pelatihan membaca di Selumit Kalimantan Utara terbukti mampu mengubah pola pikir masyarakat tentang manfaat membaca dan meningkatkan minat baca anak. Hal ini diketahui dari hasil angket dan wawancara yang diberikan kepada peserta. Sebelum dilakukan pelatihan terdapat 26% yang suka membaca dan dapat memahami bacaan. Adapun setelah adanya pelatihan ini, terjadi peningkatan anak yang suka membaca dan dapat memahami bacaan sebanyak 86%.
Abstract: Children in the coastal areas of North Kalimantan experience a low reading culture. Parents pay little attention to education and do not facilitate the development of their children's reading. Many children cannot understand the contents of the reading. Therefore, reading training with picture story books was carried out in Selumit, North Kalimantan, which aims to increase children's interest and reading culture. In addition, another goal is to reinforce to parents and children the importance of reading so that their knowledge increases. This activity was carried out in Selumit, North Kalimantan. The methods used in this activity were demonstrations and training. The training participants in this activity numbered 19 children. The team evaluated the success of the children by asking the children to read in turns and interviews. The results of the study showed that the reading training program in Selumit, North Kalimantan was proven to be able to change people's mindsets about the benefits of reading and increase children's interest in reading. This is known from the results of interviews given to participants. Before the training, there were 26% who liked to read and could understand reading. After this training, there was an increase in children who wanted to read and could understand reading by 86%.
