Abstract

Abstract: Retok Village is one of the villages in Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan Province, located around the Tanjungpura University Special Purpose Forest Area (KHDTK). To preserve and manage the KHDTK, the village community is an important part of identifying and mapping potential natural resources because the community has local knowledge related to ecology and conservation practices. This service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of the community in identifying and mapping the potential of natural resources in their area. The mentoring activities were carried out using an interactive discussion method with the local community consisting of family welfare empowerment (PKK) mothers from 5 hamlets and 25 participants. The results of the pre-test and post-test evaluations given during the activity showed an increase in knowledge related to village boundaries, location, and important land and communal land by 56%, thus indicating that this activity succeeded in increasing community knowledge and supporting KHDTK conservation efforts.
