MENINGKATKAN KESADARAN DAN KETERAMPILAN PENGURUS PESMA AL MANAR DALAM MENGOLAH SAMPAH SECARA BERKELANJUTAN
Abstract
Abstract: Waste management at PESMA AL MANAR Ponorogo still faces major challenges, especially in optimizing the utilization of organic waste. The lack of knowledge and limited facilities make waste accumulate and risk polluting the environment. To overcome this problem, a service program was conducted that implements science and technology in Solid Waste Management (MPSP). The goal is to increase the awareness and skills of PESMA administrators in managing waste in a sustainable manner. This program was carried out through a series of activities such as socialization, training, and hands-on practice involving 115 administrators and students. The evaluation results, conducted by observation and interviews, showed that participants' understanding of the MPSP concept increased by 85%, while technical skills in composting increased by 75%. In addition, the program also managed to produce around 60 kg of compost every month, which can be used for greening as well as having economic value. Hopefully, this initiative can become an example of sustainable waste management that can be applied in other pesantren environments.
