Abstract

Abstract: The advocacy training conducted for students of the Ikatan Mahasiswa Pelajar Sambi Rampas Congkar (IMPASCA) aims to enhance their understanding and skills in effective advocacy techniques. Specifically, this training is designed to improve persuasive communication skills, lobbying abilities, the formulation of advocacy strategies, and the use of social media as a campaign tool. The main issue faced is the lack of understanding and skills in designing advocacy strategies, as well as limited knowledge of the pathways available to influence policy. This community service activity was carried out through interactive workshops and simulations involving 50 IMPASCA students as partners. The training took place at the IMPASCA organization’s secretariat courtyard. Evaluation was conducted through pre-tests, post-tests, and participant satisfaction surveys. The evaluation results showed a significant increase across all indicators, such as basic understanding of advocacy (26%), introduction to advocacy techniques (16%), lobbying skills and social media use (16%), and application in student life (12%). Participant satisfaction was also recorded as high, with 66.6% of participants strongly agreeing with the training implementation. This training successfully improved the students’ advocacy capacity and strengthened their participation in decision-making.
