Abstract

Abstract: The destruction of mangrove ecosystems due to plastic waste is a serious problem that threatens the sustainability of Bali's coastline. This community service activity aims to improve the ecological literacy of students at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University, through a mangrove cleanup with Sungai Watch. A total of 28 students were actively involved at Mangrove Last Point, Denpasar, on July 4, 2025. The implementation method used experiential learning based on participatory action. The activity stages included coordination, education, division of work areas, the cleanup, documentation, and evaluation. The evaluation system was conducted descriptively through direct observation of students’ active participation during the activity, as well as collecting reflections and impressions afterward. As a result, plastic and inorganic waste was successfully collected in documented volumes, and participants' ecological awareness increased. More than 85% of students stated that this activity was beneficial in building environmental understanding and awareness. This program also strengthened cross-sector collaboration as an implementation of the quadruple helix in conservation. The evaluation noted high enthusiasm and readiness to participate in similar activities. This activity is expected to become a model of good practice in ecological literacy based on concrete actions that can be replicated.
