Abstract

Abstract: The Tapak Tugu coastal area has experienced a 45% degradation of its mangrove ecosystem due to coastal abrasion (3.2 meters/year), land subsidence (8-10 cm/year), and tidal flooding 12-15 times per month. The objective of this community service program is to transform the ecological and economic conditions of the community through sustainable mangrove ecotourism, emphasizing community empowerment so that they can actively participate in the independent and sustainable management of natural resources. The implementation methods include: (1) socialization of the program to Pokdarwis Bina Tapak Lestari and stakeholders; (2) training in mangrove processing and ecotourism management; (3) implementation of participatory mangrove planting ecotourism; (4) educational campaigns through tourist group visit programs; and (5) continuous monitoring and evaluation to assess program effectiveness through observation interviews and analysis of activity achievement data. Thus, the success of the program can be measured objectively in terms of community empowerment and environmental management. The target partners are the Pokdarwis group, consisting of 35 people. The results achieved were the production of mangrove dodol by 12 members of a women's group with a turnover of Rp 2,250,000 per month, the implementation of an educational mangrove planting program with the participation of 24 tourist groups (480 people), an educational campaign through planting activities and visits to fish ponds involving academics, and a 78% increase in community environmental awareness. This program has successfully transformed the mangrove area into a sustainable edutourism destination with a 65% increase in community income.
