SMART DRIP IRRIGATION BERBASIS INTERNET OF THINGS UNTUK PRODUKTIVITAS PERTANIAN DI KAWASAN AGROPOLITAN DI PROVINSI BANTEN
Abstract
Abstrak: Pertanian merupakan sektor strategis dalam mendukung ketahanan pangan nasional, namun petani di kawasan agropolitan masih menghadapi tantangan dalam pengelolaan air irigasi. Desa Gempol Sari, Kecamatan Sepatan Timur, Kabupaten Tangerang, memiliki potensi pertanian yang besar, tetapi 65% jaringan irigasi mengalami kerusakan dan hanya 42% lahan yang memiliki akses irigasi teknis. Sebagian besar irigasi menggunakan sistem pompa, sehingga biaya irigasi mencapai 25–30% dari total biaya produksi. Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) BIMA Kemendiktisaintek ini bertujuan meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan air, produktivitas, serta kapasitas petani melalui implementasi Smart Drip Irrigation berbasis Internet of Things (IoT). Kegiatan dilakukan di Kelompok Tani Rawa Banteng dengan 20 anggota warga petani aktif. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi pelatihan teknis instalasi dan pengoperasian, pelatihan pemasaran produk melalui media sosial, serta pemasangan 300 titik polybag cabai menggunakan sistem Smart Drip Irrigation. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dan penyebaran kuesioner kepada 28 responden, petani mampu mengoperasikan sistem secara mandiri, 57,1% responden menyatakan penggunaan air menjadi lebih efisien dan 42,9% menyatakan sangat efisien. Program ini sejalan dengan agenda Asta Cita Pemerintah Indonesia dalam memperkuat ketahanan pangan, pembangunan desa, dan adaptasi perubahan iklim.
Abstract: Agriculture is a strategic sector in supporting national food security; however, farmers in agropolitan areas continue to face challenges in irrigation water management. Gempol Sari Village, located in Sepatan Timur Subdistrict, Tangerang Regency, Banten Province, has significant agricultural potential, yet 65% of its irrigation network is damaged, and only 42% of farmland has access to technical irrigation. Most irrigation systems rely on water pumps, causing irrigation costs to reach 25–30% of total production expenses. This Community Service Program (PKM) under the BIMA Kemendiktisaintek initiative aims to improve water use efficiency, productivity, and farmers’ capacity through the implementation of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based Smart Drip Irrigation system. The program was conducted with the Rawa Banteng Farmers Group, consisting of 20 active farming members. The activities included technical training on installation and operation, marketing training using social media, and the installation of 300 chili polybags equipped with the Smart Drip Irrigation system. Based on the interviews and questionnaire results, the farmers were able to operate the system independently, with 57.1% of respondents reporting that water use became more efficient and 42.9% stating that it became highly efficient. This program aligns with Indonesia’s Asta Cita agenda to strengthen food security, promote rural development, and enhance climate change adaptation.
