Abstract

Abstract: Leadership within health professional organizations is a key factor in improving service quality; however, challenges remain in the areas of team communication, coordination among branches, and suboptimal decision-making among the executive board of the Indonesian Midwives Association (IBI) in Palembang. This community service project aims to enhance collaborative and transformational leadership capacity through experiential learning-based training. The method employed was an interactive training program that included a collaborative tower simulation game, a crisis decision-making simulation, and a blind leadership game, involving 75 participants from 26 branches. Evaluation was conducted using a pretest and posttest design with a maximum score of 150, along with observations of participant engagement. The results showed a significant improvement in leadership understanding, with the number of participants achieving the maximum score increasing from 6 in the pretest to 51 in the posttest (an increase of approximately 750%), as well as a shift in the score distribution from a majority of scores in the 100–110 range to nearly all scores of ≥130. Additionally, there was an improvement in communication skills, teamwork, and confidence in collective decision-making, which strengthened leadership capacity and fostered a more collaborative and adaptive organizational culture.
