Abstract

Abstract: Women from low-income households continue to face limited access to long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) and early cervical cancer detection. This community service program aimed to expand reproductive health access and improve participants’ understanding of LARC and cervical cancer screening. The activities included health education, individual counseling, medical eligibility screening, IUD or implant insertion, and Pap smear examinations. The program involved two groups consisting of 60 participants receiving LARC education and 50 participants receiving cervical cancer early-detection education. Evaluation was conducted through structured oral pre-test and post-test consisting of 7 questions for each group based on the educational indicators, along with documentation of service utilization. The success indicators included increased participant understanding after education and improved access to reproductive health services based on medical eligibility screening. Understanding of IUD and implant methods increased from 86.67% to 96.67%, while understanding of early cervical cancer detection increased from 24% to 66%. A total of 75% of participants in the LARC group received IUD or implant services, and 78% of participants in the cervical cancer detection group underwent Pap smear examinations. Integrated reproductive health services combining education, counseling, screening, and clinical services improved understanding and access to reproductive health services among low-income women. Continuous education is needed to strengthen awareness of early cervical cancer detection.
