Abstract

Abstract: Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are a group of diseases that have a high potential as comorbidities if infected with COVID-19. The physical distancing policy during the COVID-19 pandemic as an effort to reduce the transmission of the coronavirus has the potential to increase a sedentary lifestyle due to decreased physical activity and exercise. This sedentary behavior is at risk of obesity which will have an impact on increasing the risk of NCDs. This community service activity is in the form of health education activities and assistance in the practice of early detection of NCDs risks. The aim is to increase knowledge and skills in the early detection of NCDs risks to prevent the risk of serious conditions due to COVID-19. The activity was carried out by providing materials about the promotion of nutrition and health in preventing NCDs and early detection of NCDs by measuring obesity status for 26 cadres in Pedurungan Tengah Village, Semarang City. This community service activity succeeded in increasing the knowledge of participants with good knowledge increasing by 11.5% about prevention NCDs during the pandemic and the ability to detect NCDs by measuring obesity status.
