PENINGKATAN PENGETAHUAN CAREGIVER FORMAL PEMULA DALAM MERAWAT ORANG SAKIT MELALUI EDUKASI KESEHATAN

Abstract


Abstrak: Kebutuhan akan caregiver meningkat terkait lebih banyak prevalensi penyakit tidak menular dan degeneratif serta populasi orang tua. Caregiver adalah orang yang membantu orang memenuhi kebutuhan sehari-hari dan terlibat dalam perawatan dan pengobatan orang yang sakit dan menderita disabilitas akibat penyakitnya. Caregiver formal merupakan caregiver yang membantu pasien selain caregiver informal/familial caregiver. Kebutuhan akan jasa pendamping orang sakit (caregiver) formal semakin meningkat disebabkan oleh keluarga yang belum siap/mampu berperan sebagai familial caregiver. Tujuan PkM: Tujuan dari kegiatan ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan caregiver formal pemula yang berasal dari yayasan dalam merawat orang sakit. Metode: Metode pelaksanaan PkM adalah dengan memberikan edukasi tentang cara merawat orang sakit melalui seminar daring dan edukasi diberikan oleh anggota tim PkM. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh caregiver formal yang berasal dari tiga mitra berlokasi di Jakarta, Tangerang dan Bali berjumlah 59 orang. Kegiatan dievaluasi dengan pre-posttest masing-masing sebanyak 10 pertanyaan. Hasil: Kegiatan PKM dilakukan dengan baik dan tepat waktu. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan caregiver formal pemula tentang merawat orang sakit meningkat, naik dari nilai rata-rata pretest 38.17 menjadi nilai rata-rata posttest 49.75. Kegiatan dirasakan berdampak bagi caregiver dengan respon antusias dalam pengajuan pertanyaan dalam sesi diskusi. Pelatihan ini dapat dilakukan berkelanjutan dengan pemberian pelatihan yang melatih keterampilan dan psikomotorik sesuai panduan kementrian kesehatan.

Abstract: The The need for caregivers is increasing due to the greater prevalence of non-communicable and degenerative diseases and the aging population. Caregivers are people who help people fulfill their daily needs and are involved in the care and treatment of people who are sick and suffer from disabilities due to their illness. Formal caregivers are caregivers who assist patients in addition to informal/familial caregivers. The need for formal caregiver services is increasing due to families who are not able to act as familial caregivers. PkM Objectives: The purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge of novice formal caregivers from foundations in caring for the sick. Methods: The method of implementing PkM is by providing education on how to care for the sick through online seminars and education provided by PkM team members. This activity was attended by formal caregivers from three partners located in Jakarta, Tangerang and Bali totaling 59 people. The activity was evaluated with a pre-posttest. Results: PKM activities are carried out well and on time. The results of the activity showed that the level of knowledge of novice formal caregivers about caring for the sick increased, rising from the pretest mean score of 38.17 to the posttest mean score of 49.75. The activity was felt to have an impact on caregivers with an enthusiastic response in asking questions in the discussion session. This training can be carried out continuously by providing training that trains skills and psychomotor skills according to the Ministry of Health guidelines.
