PELATIHAN KESIAPSIAGAAN BENCANA MELALUI E-BOOK MITIGASI GEMPA BUMI TERINTEGRASI PEMBELAJARAN FISIKA DAN KIMIA

Abstract


Abstrak: Indonesia termasuk wilayah rawan gempa bumi, khususnya di Kota Jayapura yang mengalami ribuan gempa susulan pada tahun 2023–2025. Rendahnya pemahaman dan persepsi siswa SMA terkait kesiapsiagaan bencana menjadikan pelatihan mitigasi gempa bumi sebagai kebutuhan mendesak. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik tentang kesiapsiagaan dan mitigasi bencana gempa bumi, membangun persepsi positif tentang pentingnya kesiapsiagaan serta memudahkan siswa dalam memahami konsep mitigasi melalui media digital. Metode pelaksanaan berupa sosialisasi, ceramah, dan simulasi menggunakan e-book mitigasi bencana gempa bumi yang diintegrasikan dengan materi fisika dan kimia. Peserta kegiatan adalah siswa SMA YPPK Taruna Dharma sebanyak 150 orang dengan evaluasi menggunakan angket pretest–posttest mengenai kesiapsiagaan sebanyak 20 butir pernyataan. Aspek yang diukur adalah pengetahuan dan sikap terhadap risiko bencana; kebijakan dan panduan; rencana untuk keadaan darurat bencana; sistem peringatan bencana gempa bumi; dan mobilisasi sumber daya. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman kesiapsiagaan dari kategori tidak siap sebesar 50,61 menjadi sangat siap dengan rata-rata seluruh aspek 70,09, perubahan persepsi positif sebesar 87,5%, serta respon siswa terhadap e-book pada kategori sangat baik dengan skor rata-rata 69,15. Kegiatan ini berdampak pada peningkatan literasi kebencanaan dan kesiapsiagaan sekolah terhadap bencana.

Abstract: Indonesia is one of the earthquake-prone countries, particularly Jayapura City, which experienced thousands of aftershocks during 2023–2025. The low understanding and perception of high school students regarding disaster preparedness make earthquake mitigation training urgently needed. This community service aimed to improve students’ understanding of earthquake disaster preparedness and mitigation, build positive perceptions of the importance of preparedness and facilitate students in comprehending mitigation concepts through digital media. The methods included socialization, lectures, and simulations using an earthquake disaster mitigation e-book integrated with physics and chemistry materials. Participants were 150 high school students from YPPK Taruna Dharma, with evaluation using a 20-item pretest-posttest questionnaire on preparedness. The aspects measured were knowledge and attitudes toward disaster risk; policies and guidelines; emergency plans; earthquake warning systems; and resource mobilization. The results showed an increase in preparedness understanding, from 50.61 to very prepared, with an average score of 70.09 for all aspects, an 87.5% positive change in perception, and student responses to e-books were in the very good category with an average score of 69.15. This activity resulted in improved disaster literacy and school preparedness for disasters.
