PELATIHAN PEMBUATAN PESTISIDA NABATI BERBASIS KULIT KOPI SEBAGAI SOLUSI PENGELOLAAN SAMPAH ORGANIK
Abstract
Abstrak: Kelebihan kapasitas pada Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA) menyebabkan masyarakat di desa mitra pengabdian membuang sampah organik di sekitar lingkungan atau membakar sampah. Kebiasaan ini berpotensi mencemari lingkungan dan mengancam kesehatan masyarakat. Oleh sebab itu, dilakukan pelatihan pembuatan pestisida nabati dari kulit kopi. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengolah sampah kulit kopi menjadi produk yang bermanfaat, memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat tentang manfaat dan cara membuat pestisida nabati dari kulit kopi, dan mengetahui performa pestisida nabati dalam mengurangi hama pada tanaman. Peserta adalah 20 orang anggota dari Persatuan RT 1 dan RT 2 (PERSADA). Metode kegiatan yang dipilih adalah Community-Based Participatory Action Research (CBPAR). Tahapan kegiatan meliputi perencanaan, implementasi, dan evaluasi menggunakan pemberian kuesioner dan observasi kinerja pestisida. Hasilnya adalah diperoleh produk pestisida nabati sebanyak 40 liter. Produk ini langsung diaplikasikan warga ke tanaman. Hasilnya, tanaman tumbuh lebih hijau dan semakin segar. Selain itu, terjadi kenaikan pemahaman peserta tentang manfaat dan pembuatan pestisida nabati sesudah pelatihan sebesar 28%.
Abstract: The overcapacity at the Landfill Site (TPA) has led the community in the partner village to dispose of organic waste in the surrounding environment or burn it. This habit has the potential to pollute the environment and threaten public health. Therefore, a training program on making botanical pesticides from coffee husks was carried out. This community service activity aimed to process coffee husk into useful product, provide the community with knowledge about the benefits and methods of making botanical pesticides from coffee husks, and assess the performance of the botanical pesticide in reducing plant pests. The participants were 20 members of the Persatuan RT 1 and RT 2 (PERSADA). The selected method was Community-Based Participatory Action Research (CBPAR). The activity included planning, implementation, and evaluation, which were conducted using questionnaires and by observing pesticide performance. As a result, 40 liters of botanical pesticide were successfully produced. The product was immediately applied by the community to their crops, resulting in greener and healthier plants. In addition, participants’ understanding in making botanical pesticide increased by 28% after the training.
