Abstract

Abstract: HIV remains a public health issue that requires strengthened education from adolescence, particularly regarding transmission, prevention, and the importance of early detection. This community service activity aimed to improve HIV knowledge among high school–equivalent adolescents in the Tasikmalaya area through interactive education, leaflets, and demonstration of HIV ICT testing. The activity methods included pre-test administration, interactive educational sessions, leaflet distribution, HIV ICT testing demonstration, and post-test administration after the intervention. Evaluation of 67 matched respondents showed that the average score increased from 67.46% before the activity to 88.96% after the activity, reflecting an improvement of 21.49 percentage points. Most respondents, namely 65.67%, showed improved scores. Improvement was also found across all question items, especially in HIV prevention and rapid HIV test interpretation. These findings indicate that the combination of interactive education, leaflets, and HIV ICT testing demonstration was effective in improving adolescents’ knowledge about HIV in the Tasikmalaya area.
