PENINGKATAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP ELEKTROMAGNETIKA MELALUI KULIAH TAMU INTERNASIONAL BAGI MAHASISWA DIPLOMA TEKNIK
Abstract
Abstract: Understanding electromagnetics concepts is essential in engineering education because they serve as the foundation for various modern technologies. However, diploma engineering students often face limitations in developing theoretical understanding due to the predominance of practice-oriented learning. To address this issue, a community service program in the form of an international guest lecture was conducted at Politeknik Ungku Omar, Malaysia, involving 40 diploma engineering students on October 8, 2025. The program consisted of preparation, material delivery, interactive discussions, quizzes, and evaluation using 10 pre-test questions, 10 post-test questions, and a participant satisfaction questionnaire. The results showed a 43.7% improvement in participants’ ability to understand electromagnetics concepts and their applications, indicating enhanced conceptual and analytical competencies. These findings suggest that the international guest lecture contributed positively to strengthening academic capacity while also fostering collaboration between Universitas Dian Nusantara and Politeknik Ungku Omar.
