Pendidikan kesehatan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan orang tua dalam memberikan edukasi perlindungan diri kepada anak.
Abstract: Limited parental knowledge regarding body recognition, personal boundaries, and safe versus unsafe touch may hinder efforts to prevent sexual abuse among young children. This activity aimed to improve parents’ knowledge of sexual abuse prevention in early childhood. The activity was conducted in kindergartens in Tangerang City and involved 49 parents. The intervention consisted of health education delivered through lectures, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, leaflets, pictures, educational cards, and practice of the song “My Private Areas” with the children. Evaluation was conducted using a 10-item questionnaire administered to parents before and after the intervention. The results showed an increase in the proportion of parents with good knowledge at kindergarten 1, from 36.4% to 63.6%, and at kindergarten 2, from 74.1% to 100%. The proportion of parents with poor knowledge decreased to 0% at both locations. Health education can improve parents’ knowledge in providing self-protection education to children.
