IMPLEMENTASI TEKNOLOGI TEPAT GUNA BANK PAKAN FUNGSIONAL UNTUK MITIGASI PENYAKIT DAN EFISIENSI BIAYA PRODUKSI AYAM BURAS
Abstract
Abstract: High mortality due to seasonal diseases and expensive commercial feed are the main constraints for indigenous chicken farming in East Amarasi. The purpose of this community service activity is to implement local ingredient-based fermented functional feed for disease mitigation and production cost efficiency. Additionally, this activity aims to comprehensively enhance partner competence, covering both hard skills (feed formulation techniques, machinery operation, and vaccination) and soft skills (simple cash-flow management, and shifting the mindset from traditional livestock farming to a business-oriented approach). Methods used include feed formulation counseling, demonstrations of feed making using local ingredients (leucaena and moringa), vet-led disease prevention training, and KUB chicken production cost efficiency analysis. The partners are 15 members of the "Harapan Baru" Farmers Group. Evaluation was conducted through pre-test and post-test 15 questions, as well as direct observation of feed prototypes and cash flow calculation accuracy. The results showed an 85% increase in partners' hardskills in independent feed production and a 90% increase in disease prevention understanding. Economically, this functional feed and economic analysis implementation successfully reduced feed production costs by up to 40% and decreased chicken mortality by 30% during the mentoring period.
