Abstract

Abstract: Exclusive breastfeeding plays a crucial role in supporting infant health and growth. Maternal knowledge is a key factor contributing to the success of exclusive breastfeeding. This activity aimed to improve breastfeeding mothers' knowledge regarding exclusive breastfeeding through health education. The activity involved 31 breastfeeding mothers and utilized a one-group pretest-posttest design. Knowledge was assessed before and after the education session. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate methods, specifically the paired samples t-test with α = 0.05. The mean knowledge score increased from 63.84 pre-education to 81.19 post-education, representing an increase of 17.35 points. The paired samples t-test revealed a significant difference between pre- and post-education scores (t = 82.558; df = 30; p < 0.001). Education on exclusive breastfeeding significantly improves the knowledge of breastfeeding mothers and can serve as a promotional strategy to support the success of exclusive breastfeeding.
